Northwest Missouri State University athletic director Andy Peterson wrote a letter to Bearcat fans addressing football season tickets and extending the deadline for renewals.

The new deadline is now August 14 to renew. Peterson said the extension comes as the university expects "more information and data to determine the fate of the fall football season in the next two weeks."

NCAA Division 2 forced all programs to trim regular season schedules to 10 games earlier in the Spring. Then, on July 20, the MIAA delayed the start of Fall sports until the week of September 28 due to COVID-19.

But the schedules may not be done shifting yet.

"However, we ask that everyone appreciate, understand, and know that it will change again in the next two weeks," Peterson said. "So we are continuing to ask for grace and understanding as we try to navigate through the fog."

Season ticket holders that choose not to renew for 2020 will not give up the rights to their seats permanently. Peterson added that those fans will have the opportunity to purchase those tickets again in 2021.
